I have stared deeply into the abyss
And like most of us, I'm fairly sure
It stared back at me, malevolently
This one is just my abyss de jour...

Never quite knowing what it's all about....

Thoughts from a shallow brackish ancient sea
From creatures who crawled out to the land
Ancient memories now circle around me
In an ever menacing tightening band....

Nightmarish thoughts that came for me
I nurtured instead of destroying them
They're from some deep dark declivity
Now gaining a foothold on the rim....

I have ordered some mollifying soil
To fill in the deeper dank dark holes
It's a daunting task of endless toil
But filling them in is one of my goals....
