Listen to every word,
That your heart and mind has heard;
A father gives discipline,
At any time that you sin.
And do not ever neglect,
What your mother would reflect;
Listen to what she has taught,
For the answers you have sought.
Discipline and teachings are,
A graceful garland by far;
That you display on your head,
So your brain has become fed.
It is a chain on your neck,
Wanting to keep you in check;
And help you when in trouble,
That you do not go stumble.
If a sinner tries to lure,
Just close as you lock their door;
Go and stay away from them,
Let God go there and condemn.
No remorse do they instill,
If they ambush and just kill;
Innocent blood on your hands,
Makes you pay the law demands.
Nothing is able to save,
When swallowed up by the grave;
You too would be in the pit,
No matter of your merit.
Each day will bring a new test,
As a parent do your best;
Never be a know it all,
A sure sign that you will fall.
