BABY
No one has loved you before
You’ve never loved anyone before
I want you to set the bar high
For anyone else
You will love after me
It’s up to me to get it right
When I see you smile
You look at me
I look at you
We both know
The love we share
Like brand new tulips
Opening there petals
To the spring sun
You open your tiny fingers
Reaching towards me
I hold you close
Kiss your face
My heart feels like it will burst
With love for you
It’s all up to me
My most important job
To be your teacher, your provider
Your disciplinarian
While loving you and caring for you
In just the right way to create
The perfect balance
The future our future is unknown
I promise you my intentions
Will always be good
I will always strive to make you
Proud of me
I will show you the way
