A PROUD VETERAN HAS GONE BACK HOME - (Reposted)

Photobucket

A proud veteran has gone back home
He had fought a long hard battle
And will join our heavenly father

He had served our nation in Korea
Came back home and later married
They raised three beautiful kids

All have become a source of pride
As with many who have served in war
We tend to be over protective at times

Some can't understand why we are
But we have seen the lost of life
And at times we become controlling

Wanting to protect our families always
We are misunderstood for this reason
Kids may think they are being smothered

But in reality we just wanted to protect them
Life is precious and it can be lost in a second
The pain we've felt is to much to bear at times

So we tend to fearlessly watch over our family
And we have a hard time letting go of them too
For fear that something would happen to them

Sometimes it causes bitterness and anger too
Children can't wait to be free of us at last
Believe it or not it was because we loved you

This man lost his battle tonight to live on
And he fought a valliant fight against death
But now he is free of all pain he'd suffered

He has gone now to be with our Lord in Heaven
And will be reunited with his mom and his dad
This proud man was my Uncle Carl (Hap) Gray
