See the dawning of the new day,
The sun beams are streaming my way;
It feels as though they have a grip,
On my arms as well as my hip.
From home they are pulling me out.
Figure not what it is about;
I feel as if I left my shell,
Where both my soul and life did dwell.
I looked back and saw on the floor,
My lifeless body next to the door;
I felt as floating through the air,
Destination I knew not where.
Burdens of my life seem to go,
As streams of air around me flow;
The passage of time was perplexed,
To change this life into the next.
Memories are starting to pass,
As seeing my past through a glass;
As time goes by no turning back,
Cannot change where I was slack.
All the times that I had done wrong,
Made the agony to prolong;
Why did I have to lie and cheat?
Trample others under my feet.
But there was good that I had done,
I hope the Father and the Son;
Will consider that in regards,
To my inheriting rewards.
I know that I do not deserve,
But was humbled as I did serve;
And I believe with my whole heart,
Christ my Savior never depart.
So if my time has come to leave,
My Lord my God I do believe;
Only place that I want to see,
Heaven bound that I want to be.
