In leaving those behind we love
Too much to bare, this moment of
Loss of family member gone
The bitterness of death calls on
In gathering we meet in sorrow
The yesterdays, the near tomorrows
Become now state where all are one
In mourning one, family, one's son
The loss profound is felt and seems
That better days turned shattered dreams
Will not become of those who weep
For Danny boy, eternal sleeps
Death now appears as real as life
As strength summoned is asked of Light
For in God's arms is held one more
Now time to rest where life's restored
Be not weary or faint of heart
This one you loved is now a part
As Heaven called for him to be
With God and family he too now sees
Remember this as time will come
For you to be again as one
For where he walks are streets of Gold
A place of peace, Dan now beholds
Weep not for Danny
