Rise Child
For we must walk many miles
Ain't no time to eat
We work all the time
No time to rest our feet
For what keep our flare up is this dream...
Full of imageries and the thought of us being free
Just one of dem days
...So rise child
Wipe those eyes that were drenched in sleep
Clear those nasty thoughts
Of master and being beat
For soon we shall be free
Hold my hand let us sing
For we gonna hear the sound of victory
Our victory
The one we own
Not stole
Lord Child, I hear it coming!
But don't you ever forget where you from
And don't forget what you went through
Do forget the sufferings...
And do forgive whoever done badly to you
Neva bring shame to the shade of you skin
Ya hear me gal? Neva!
For you are, oh, so lucky to have
Because many years from now...
Ain't a day go pass, where your skin ain't
Recognized for its very past.
...So rise child
That mountain we must climb
And we will hear that liberty bell rings each and every time.
Oh Lord, I hear it coming!
