A Grassy Knoll In My Past

In North Carolina there is a quaint town called Pine Knoll Shores.
This is the grassy knoll in my past for my family and I cut grass there.
I was about twelve years of age when we did the cutting.
A part of my past with fond memories for everything was so simple back then.
It was my mom who taught me how to use a lawn mower.
For I was to the age when I could be responsible of operating one.
Dad was always noncommittal in things and was going to help me out by doing the yard for me.
Mom stayed with me and told me I was going to mow the grass.
I later learned it was the means of me earning money that I wouldn't have had she not helped me.
This was true of the place I know as Pine Knoll Shores.
I thank Mom today for being the continuity we needed; in our family.
For I learned a valuable lesson of what to do and how to do it.
A grassy knoll in my past is remembered with good and positive thoughts.
