My Days In the Kitchen

There came a time when Mom turned the kitchen duties over to me.
It was  a joy to prepare the food we had and see the concoctions I could come up with.
The fairly simple things I did well but not the baking.
I wasn't able to really bake anything that was half prepared.
I could take a roll of cookies and make them but to make my own was a waste of everything.
It was comical to say the least when I tried to do something on my own.
I had  one time added so much baking powder we couldn't eat the cake I had made.
It was an awful thing and it was somewhat amusing for me to have tried such a thing.
But the finer things like the turkey we had for our holidays was top notch.
I felt pleased with the outcome of them turning out so well.
The Lord helped me along the way of following Mom in the things she did.
I learned from her the many things I was able to do well.
These are the days and times of my times in the kitchen.
