Life has knocked me down,
A few times or more;
Made me wear a frown,
Enticed by a lure.
It showed me some things,
Not wanting to see;
But pleasure it brings,
Turned to agony.
I experienced,
Sadness and failure;
Then felt influenced,
By bad behavior.
But one thing for sure,
I always get up,
As I open the door,
Smell joe in my cup.
I must be careful,
With my spoken word;
And then be prayerful,
The wrong way when heard.
For once they are said,
You not get them back;
If spoken or read,
The means that you lack.
Words are forgiven,
By God when confess;
From up in Heaven,
And then He will bless.
But not forgotten,
When said to a man;
Spoiled and rotten,
Of a vengeful plan
