'Rejuvenation'

Rejuvenation, now that's the key,
It reopens the door to nature's spree,
And as we answer its encouraging call,
We stand in awe; again enthralled.

The sky once more renews its hue,
The grey now gone; replaced with blue,
And marshmallow clouds so vividly white,
Float free within our line of sight.

Do you hear the bird's sweet song?
Some short and sweet, some delightfully long?
And with each and every song they sing,
Our hearts are filled with their joyful ring.

We have waited many barren months to reach this welcomed season,
That comes along this time each year to bring rejuvenation,
It settles down upon the land, and within our very soul,
And each of us accept in kind the gift that it bestows.

~ I was beginning to think that the spring -- or the weather that accompanies spring -- would ever come,
but it has finally arrived. The winter of 2013-14 was incredibly long, harsh, and unforgiving.
I don't think anyone in the Northern Hemisphere is sorry to see it go on its way, wherever that
may be. There is something to be said about the change of air, the look of the sky, and even the
movement of the trees as they await their new bonnet of leaves. Welcome spring 2014! ~ R.B.
