You have treated me well,
As promised in Your Word;
Within You I do dwell,
For loving all I heard.
Teach me to use judgment,
Your knowledge and wisdom;
I keep Your commandments,
To get to Your kingdom.
You did make me suffer,
When I had gone astray;
Making life much rougher,
But now I do obey.
You do many good things,
As You teach me Your laws;
And Your compassion brings,
The healing of my flaws.
But arrogant people,
Have smeared me with lies;
Not knowing the Gospel,
It is You they despise.
Their hearts remaining cold,
Insensitive to You;
They talk brazen and bold,
Not knowing what is true.
But I obey Your guides,
With my entire heart;
Always Your Word abides,
Not to let it depart.
The teachings from Your tongue,
Makes me happy You taught;
Worth more than the gold flung,
Than the thousands have brought.
