Just Want Moore
Wisdom spoken from a man who didn't even make it to 24
Young and wise he was my son, Jer'ray Wendell Moore
Like everyone he had his struggle with right verses wrong
He left us all too early but his voice still rings on
Want more out of life then what's just within your grasp
Much more than what you can smoke or drink from a glass
Life is more than beats and rhymes, turn-ups and games
So much more than hustle points, block wars and gangs
It's not about big butts and smiles, short skirts and saggy pants
You can never possess much more if you don't give it a chance
The ghetto is not a prison sentence, its character school
It teaches you how to overcome life's often unfair rules
Starting from the bottom means you can see the mistakes of the fallen
It is there you can hear the invitation of success calling
Just want more out of life and fight for your place in history
Inspire others to fight along and tell the world your story
Nothing human can hold you back; your strength comes from above
Given freely to those who ask, from God with grace and love
As for those crabs in the bucket who want to pull you down
Be ever wise but not surprised they are always around
Surround yourself with positive people who want the best for you
Those that will love and support you in all you go through
The more you want for yourself, the more they want you to get
And when you're tired and want to quit they'll say no not yet
Just want more out of life but please understand
This means sometimes you have to drop what's already in your hand
Let some things go, leave some people behind
Set your sights on Moore and more is what you'll find
