Poetic Verses

Disturbed By The Sound

There is a sound
that makes me quiver,
It gives me the chills
and causes a shiver.

I grit my teeth
and grab my head,
Lay trembling uneasy
alone in my bed.

I take a breath
at the sudden peace,
The noise has stopped
and calm can increase.

The sound is a habit
for the fidgety boy,
But, it bothers my ears
and messes my joy.

It creeps up again
and I ask him "Why?"
I tend to complain
with a look in my eye.

It may seem strange
that it bothers me so,
The floor is a mess
and the tension will grow.

It settles again
and I know that I'm free,
The chills are gone
and calm comes to me.

The need to know
may come to mind,
What is this sound
that has been so unkind?

It is simply a paper
that is ripped fast and slow,
It makes me uneasy
and the feeling "Oh no!"

Done by the bored
and the "Nothing to do."
Like nails on a chalkboard
the feeling comes through.

When he is finished
and the paper is gone,
I know I can rest
and it brings me a yawn.

Peace is a castle
and silence is queen,
I nod off to sleep
in a kingdom serene.
