Growing In Newport, An Acrostic

(Piece inspired by my brother, Ronnie J.)
God is the Supreme Authority; in all of our lives.
Reaching the pinnacle of success is something most wonderful.
Only you know the strengths you have and the weaknesses.
Working with the Lord do we find peace and contentment.
In my life of living in Newport, there were wonderful times.
Nothing ever seemed to bother me and all was shiny and new.
Growing up in Newport was a highlight for me.
In my heart there is a happiness that is all mine due to living there.
Newport was the home of great joy for me as was true elsewhere.
Nothing is ever  done by surprise to God for He knows all.
Ever remaining to be a citizen of Newport is my wish.
With the hope and the blessings of God I will be there someday.
Perhaps as my final resting place will be outside of Newport.
Only the Lord knows  where I will be when it is all over.
Reaching the pearly gates is my hope and my wish.
Taking Jesus as Savior ensures my position in Heaven.
