 JANET'S PLANET

By The Sea

I longed to live by the sea
The sea so calm and free
In many rooms
I spill my sorrow and gloom

There are many rooms in my home
I escape into each yet, I feel all alone
So much pain I hold inside of me
My tears roll into the deep blue sea

Wide open is my door
Releasing all hurt I once wore
I longed to live by the sea
Movement of the sea brings peace to me

The sea roars and calls my name
The sea I cannot tame
It rolls on and on, a flowing song
This is the place I belong

So many rooms in my home
Yet, days and nights I cannot bear feelings of being alone
A wide open door forevermore
The sea a tranquil place for me, pain and sorrow I pour.

İMay 2, 2014 Janet Irene Griffin

This poem was inspired by a picture, "Rooms by the sea" by Edward Hooper. I love the sea and its beauty.

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.
