BIRTHDAY WISHES

Why cannot he wear a ring
A tender voice in me would sing
Why does not he work for me
At the house where we be

Why run away when I can stay here
Why make the day gray when it's clear
You make your own happiness
And if there's navy-blue-rain cr@ppiness

In your life
You cannot control
Leave the sadness
And let the blessings roll

You are alive
You scream "God, take me instead"
The angry jive
That comes from the little kid

Who grew up too fast
Where family was fleeting
Change is all that lasts
Tears come with it's greeting

Still writing poetry
Be proud
Still being free
Out loud

Want to remember my momma
Who died at 51
Vote for Hillary not Obama
Because a woman is the one

To stop war in the United States
Empathizing with other wives
Turning off the senseless hates
Turning on peace in our lives

What do I want for my birthday
I want to be objectively bonded
Or I feel it's another blues day
Wherein I have absconded

Into the pain
The stormy sea
The pouring rain
Life brings to me

Negativity is pain is to some
Screaming yelling force to see
Ugly, hateful, lifeless bum
Is what it does to me

No pain of any kind
Slow secure day flowing
No thoughts of dying in my mind
For my birthday is all I want to be knowing

Not to be on my last nerve
The adrenaline sounding
As 52's rounding the curve
Want happiness abounding...

...That's all.
