LOUISIANA

Wishing for hope
Jon, do you hear?
Hurricane dope
Does it bring fear?

To come to you
You're on my mind
It's here too true
I wish for divine

It's all I've been thinking
For you my friend
That 'Orleans ain't sinking
Oh damn put an end

To these artless displeasure's
Mother Earth bring mercy
Father Time soon savors
Salty taste angry sea

Louisiana down South
Protect folks from fury
Louisiana my mouth
Speaks here in worry

For my friend Jon
Down there in 'Orleans
Once put upon
Take away the fiends

Of rain, floods, wind
Send to this man
A memory of when
There was only sun's stand

Stop this storm
Protect 'Orleans
Keep hope warm
My weak soul screams

My heart sends out
No floods and dying
In prayers that shout
For you I'm trying

To make this heartache be stopped
To think of you
Wish for peace
So Jon's life won't be ceased.
