A Synthetic Soul

Person of the Place

When I walked in
you were talkin
very softly
with a small grin
but that all went
out the window
when you saw me
and my shadow.

Without hesitation
she said "Times a wasting!"

"How many do you help?"
"Do you live for yourself?"
"I'm just the person of the place
but you'll remember my face."

"When you wake from this dream
if its meant to be."

"Smile your life away
and change your wied ways
of self destruction
and piing poisons."

"You're weren't cut from the same cloth
but your drawn to the flame like a moth."
"Feeling the warmth from the fliering light
like a chemical burn scorching your mind."

"While your brilliance fades into the night,
I tell you this to save your life."

"When you wake from this dream
if it's meant to be."

"Smile your life away
and change your wied ways
of self destruction
and piing poisons."

"Take a deep breath,
you have to accept
that you're not like all the rest."
"Who are so qui to dance

like a puppet that's only wish is
to please its master
that pulls the strings
that bring disaster."

So then I asked her
"Just who are you to interfere
in this life of mine
if I'm satisfied...

with this world and the way it spins
and the path that I take though the mist?
Ever living the way I live..
or whether I take or if I give.."

She said
"I'm the person of the place
sent through time and space
to mend or take away
the gifts I've given that go to waste."

"So when you wake from this dream
if its meant to be."

"Smile your life away
change your wied ways
of self destruction
and piing poisons."

"Unraveling the twine
that's binds you to this life
insolent creature life is fleeting."
"Freedom and fodder are a treasure for
the ambitious and breathing."

"Enriched by deprivation and in danger of stagnation
that loosens the tether of a stillborn creation
that was once a blank canvass filled with a notion
now become vacant now become burden."

"So when you wake from this dream
if its meant to be."

"Smile your life away
change your wied ways
of self destruction
and piing poisons
or else risk becoming undone."
