What Lies in wait? By EDWIN FLORES, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetry2231 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Another day or so he thinks
His world of tired in deeper sinks
Dislike nearing much hate
Sadden becomes more real this date
Yet rise and shine his soul calls to
A worldly man as he breaks through
Another morn and heart his torn
Another day, one more to scorn
His body aches of past and present
A tattered heart near last descent
Rolled in muck and circumstance
A break through sought if one last chance
His motions break at every turn
Slower becomes of time he burns
A new beginning drawing to end
A thought of peace, his just to spend
Life flew by and left grounded
This bird more man lifetime his pounded
A broken glimpse, a breath to breathe
If just to live, barely believed
How much more rings in aging ears
How come becomes of once cried tears
Emotions took the last of him
Near numb now lives and feeds within
What lies in wait now crosses mind?
The path he takes this day, this time
Bends will call to, lost in life's line
Another day becomes just that
Survive once more with faith ransacked
Arms raised now high, a call to end
Torment painful, blessing asked, When?
