How many more babies have been killed in those years? Shame on us!

More than 41 years ago our supreme court made abortion legal
How many millions babies have been killed since that day
How many scientist that could have found the cure to cancer
heart disease - Alzheimer - Parkinson's disease and of course Aids
They never had the chance to look for
or find the cure because they were killed in the womb
How many great statesmen
never had a chance to bring about the changes
to make this a land we could be proud of again
They were killed in the womb before that had a chance

How many new mothers and fathers never had the chance
to give birth to children that would grow up to be our friends
neighbors and employers and employees, children and grandchildren
to be that person to live out their lives
to be what God created them to be
They never had the chance - they were killed in the womb
I could go on and on

I remember when I was growing up it was a stigma for
a girl to be pregnant outside of marriage
Sometimes they would go off somewhere and have an abortion
They came back and life went on
Who would have ever thought back then because of a few
illegal abortion, millions of babies would be killed in the womb
by legal abortions to save their reputations or to make life
easier for those who didn't want to have a child

It sicken me to see what we have become - without any
thought or feeling for the unborn child
Where are the ones to speak for them
A generation is said to be forty years-----it has now been forty one years
since this reprehensible law was been passed
It is time to put an end to playing god
and beg God to forgive us and stop this murder of the innocent

***I was reminded after posting this by a fellow poet, He wrote,
"the same people who promote killing babies are opposed to the death penalty for convicted criminals.
They are often the same ones who want to give rights to animals."
