With You All The Way
To my son Donald who is 37 years old on the 10/5/14 Happy birthday my son love always Mum xxxx
Your Faither wanted a little lad
Who looked like him, yes like your Dad.
He got his wish when you arrived
We were so grateful you survived
He played you tunes on his guitar
Twinkle twinkle little star
Be Baw Babbity, Liverpool Loo
Ring a rosies, lullabies too
I would sing you off to sleep
If you promised not to peep
Music was part of your soul
We gave you that, we made you whole
Goodnight me and gentleman Jim
Soothed you through the teething thing
Soon as you could raise your voice
We knew what job would be your choice
In life we knew that you would sing
Play guitar and everything
Before we realised you`d grown
Got a lassie of your own
Babies too who love to dance
Listen to a songs romance
Copy you like you did him
Now we all can hear them sing
I know today is hard, he`s gone
Can you hear him sing his song
You remember, can`t forget
Yes your Da is with you yet
He would want you to be strong
Like he was son for oh so long
So our lad be happy now
Know that once again somehow
Your Da is saying Happy Day
Get your guitar out and play
Sing for me my son, ma boy
Birthdays are all meant for joy
As you celebrate today
Your Da is with you all the way
Somewhere in the stars above
Along with me, he sends his love
