Poetic Verses
Such a Father
Once again the time has come for that moment to honor
That icon in our eyes who we affectionately called father
Who stuck fast to the task with very warning or preparation?
But indeed the experience though trying was an education
There should be some form of medal for those who were prepared
To be there and not supplied the DNA and the quickly disappeared
But were resolute not matter what to be there to steer and nurture
To ensure that there is some form of provision for the future
How in those little eyes that joy of seeing from that little tower
Depicted by that feeling arising from riding high on that shoulder
And later in the night that scream of laughter fill with delight
As you loving tossed me in the air before tucking me in at night
These are some of those memories in the mind that still reside
Like working together on those bicycles before that ride
And also standing together no matter that day's light
As there was that time for hoisting and flying that kite
By like all things times flies and along come that period of adolescence
Those moment when challenges and uncertainties some any instance
How that listening and that talk so knowing giving that reassurance
Surely brought back to the mind that element of confidence and balance
So as an adult to whom was I able to turn to for advice
No matter the time it was sound and had an invaluable price
Even though there is a generation gap I could see proactive thinking
Almost seem as though you were anticipating and had the solution waiting
There is no doubt that I am happy that we were able to have such a bond
And through this has become an even better and understanding person
So father, daddy you are not only a mentor, teacher and friend
You have demonstrated so admirably what it take to be a man
