 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove

I have not reached my goal,
Nor completed the course;
But I run for my soul,
With Jesus as my source.

I am not a winner,
But what I want to do;
Not to be a sinner,
I keep running on through.

I will never look back,
And rather look ahead;
For the things that I lack,
Christ has waiting instead.

I will lengthen my stride,
Run the straight and narrow;
With blinders on my side,
I look towards tomorrow.

I run straight towards the line,
Where I finish the race;
Then Christ and I will dine,
With His winning embrace.

For I will win the prize,
Of that heavenly call;
As I see it in my eyes,
No need to trip and fall.

If your faith is mature,
You should think the same way;
Not tempted by a lure,
That will lead you astray.

But with different thought,
God shows you how to think;
Lead you to the blood bought,
For a quenching pure drink.

But we should be guided,
By all that we have learned;
For what you abided,
Is a gift and not earned.
