God is truly good,
To those who are pure;
Doing as they should,
And not wanting more.
But I did grumble,
And cursed from my lip;
My feet did stumble,
And started to slip.
Because I envy,
Arrogant men;
They had so many,
And I had no hen.
When I saw their wealth,
Some enjoy from greed;
Took toll on my health,
All I got was weed.
My heart filled with hate,
And my mind was seized;
Hard to know my fate,
As I felt diseased.
For I was stupid,
Did not understand;
Since I was torpid,
Here on sinking sand.
But I was afraid,
And needed a hand;
One to render aid,
Pull me from the sand.
With advice from God,
Guide me show the way;
I will honor and laud,
Not to go astray.
In the end He takes,
Me to glory there;
He never forsakes,
And will always share.
Being united,
With God is the best;
Being invited,
Took into His nest.
