Be careful and take heed,
Of the ones who have greed;
Disguise and vain deceit,
Are some traits how they greet.
Through shallow paths you find,
Someone who acts as kind;
Philosophy deceives,
Of what someone believes.
So they try to appeal,
Your faith they want to steal;
To go an earthly way,
Which will cause you to stray.
Because their ambitions,
Of human traditions;
Is what they will follow,
Getting you to swallow.
He does not follow Christ,
Just worldly things enticed;
Rudiments of this place,
Traditions to embrace.
In Christ the fullness dwells,
Just as the Gospel tells;
God has made you complete,
In Christ to see deceit.
Through baptism you died,
But the old you have tried;
Wanting to come alive,
Desires to revive.
But the power of Christ,
For being sacrificed;
Gives faith that will resist,
Temptations that persist.
