++   prophecy   ++

why is prophecy
filled with shadow
the long range missile of doom
negativity looms
no howdy-doody humanistic
so glad to tell you the good news
do people like the bruise
and the wallop of bad news
across the chin
the shoving in of pins?

is prophecy supposed to tell us
where we'll be and how we've been?
or does it have more to say about who we are?
always looking upwards backwards forwards
prognosticating with the stars?
not existing in the everyone's business of today...
prophetic dreams, deja vu,
broken smoke and mirrors
what do they mean

a big fat nothing or a big fat something?

its true, generals, scientists, heads of state, artists,
and extra-ordinary people invented, innovated
and problem-solved based solely upon their dreams,
its more the persistence of insight

leave out blind prophecy.
