Our mother is the earth
Aged she has become
We, her children have a duty to care for her
Where we walk upon her is sacred ground
She's is the foundation for growth
Our father is the sun
His warmth is what sub stains our lives
Sunrise to sunset, he creates growth
Gives harvest to the plains with an endless bounty
He forever watches over his children
Our grandfather is the sky
He is the giver of the breath of life
It is his sacredness we breath in and out
With each breath we take to fill our lungs
Our grandfather is needed and sacred with wisdom
Our sister is the water
We depend on her precious freshness
She holds the salmon that returns upstream to the headwaters
She must be taken care of
Sacred is her spirit with every drink we take
Our brother is the fire
It's a must we need to care for
The giver of heat in our daily existence
We draw upon him with great care
With every fire we make it is our duty to handle him with trust
Our grandmother is the moon
We send her the respect she deserves
Her sacred will creates the rise and fall of the tides
It is her emotions we draw from
She is the light in the darkness
We have many brothers
Blessed are all the animals upon this earth
The gifts are valuable to our well being
The birds are our brothers who take to wing
Their flight is a mystery we marvel at
Sacred are all our sisters
We are obligated to take care of our ever growing family
All of nature is a gift we need not take advantage of
Abundance of wonders given in wondrous amazement's
They give us life, we need take only what is needed
Our mother, father, grandmother and grandfather
Created a world full of gifts and wonder
Their lessons teach us not to take more than we need
Take only what is needed to survive
Honor thy father and mother, our elders are Wisdom!
