many days ago
I collected stars and compared-

without reason

my wisdom lacked knowledge

and my confidence - so scarce 

but today 

I know what I know

I stand where I stand

and with full confidence I can say

I do

to us

down the line, 

there may be times 

when

we find our pockets hollow

and puzzles unsolvable 

and surroundings unescapable

but 

I will never leave you

I will never desert you 

I abandon my own self

long before I’d abandon you

are irreplaceable

I seal my loyalty with kisses

and my promises with affirmation

Life will disappoint us at times

but I won’t let your hand go

nor will I betray you

are chosen in my heart…

fully 

permanently

substantially
