An Unopened Book

Welcome Home

There he stood arms open wide.
We joined in a loving embrace.
He dried the tears I have cried.
Wiped them from my face.
I've been patiently waiting for you.
I have watched your trials, your share.
I knew you would make it through.
Times I would ease the pain you'd bear.
I cried when you were hurt,
When you fell into self doubt.
Cause I knew what you were worth.
I knew when you found out;
what you are all about.
I smiled at all your success,
At all of your goals you met.
I'm so proud of how you handled the test.
How in me; you never would forget.
Now sure; you stumbled; I saw you fall.
But how you endured, pushed through.
I'm so glad you made it through it all.
So much happiness came from you.
Know now I never left you alone.
Bless you, my little lamb, my brother.
I'm here to welcome you home.
Now go and be welcomed by the others.
