There are many secrets
that have been locked away,
kept in the deepest chambers
of my heart.
Stories of passions shared
but not spoken of,
lazy nights spent in
flights of rapture.

Though love did not last
like the forever we hoped for,
thoughts of you
and our time spent together
make me smile when I think
of shared embraces.

Tears were held back
and stored inside
the flames that leaped
and flared in memory,
gathered together to warm
the cold of lonely
and be at hand to reach for
again and again.
