Teach me Lord how to live,
By Your Law to obey;
Show me how to forgive,
And never go astray.
Teach me ways of Your Law,
So I keep till the end;
And if I get a flaw,
I confess for to mend.
Help me to understand,
So that I can follow;
Your teaching on demand,
So glory on me glow.
I will guard with my heart,
And will keep them secure;
Then able to impart,
And knowing them for sure.
Lead me down on the path,
Where kept Your commandments;
Sparing me from Your wrath,
And the Day of Judgments.
I am happy with them,
As they teach me Your way;
And will never condemn,
As long as I obey.
Direct my heart towards You,
Rather than getting wealth;
Help so to see me through,
For my spiritual health.
Please turn my eyes away,
From all the worthless things;
Give me new life Your way,
That eternity brings.
Keep your promise to me,
So that I can fear You;
With Your insight to see,
Helping me each day through.
