'' Only Then Can You Take Me To Task ''

Isn't it odd?
If I question your God,
There's animosity in your response,
You say that I'm just a silly sod,
While I treat you with nonchalance.

I have the right,
To keep reality in sight,
While you believe in an invisible being,
Being lectured my ire it does ignite,
With your concept I will not be agreeing.

Having belief,
May well bring you relief,
But respect those who have no such desires,
Forcing faith on others has caused untold grief,
Non-believers you've thrown onto fires.

Ancient books,
Filled with crooks,
Where stories of miracles abound?
When published the writers got funny looks,
As no proof was there to be found.

Plagues and floods,
Shedding our bloods,
Yet you claim God is merciful and kind,
His son being restrained by metal studs,
Was his Father uncaring and blind.

Though I'm not bad,
You claim I am sad,
Because I refuse to engage with your saviour,
That sort of attitude I'd class as mad
Would your God portray such behaviour?

Being told what to do,
By you don't know who,
Has got to be classed as insane,
Believing fantasy tales some portray as true,
Goes against the human grain.

You're feeling distraught,
Because I say not,
Why is the question I must ask?
If I'm wrong I'm going somewhere hot,
