Ponder back to the 1960 years
Just to see what image appears
Gone are all the free love communes
And flower children acting like baboons

No longer do we see all the dirty
Dope smoking long haired hippy
They have disappeared with time
Like a fading church bell chime

What has remained from that time past
A group of people who cannot be outclassed
American's Veteran's they are called
Who's many names rest  on a blacken wall

You can see no wall full of hippie's names
No honors can any of them claim
The flag and draft card burners
They were our country's draft dodgers

It was the American Veteran
Who served our country with passion
Today veterans stand together with pride
As true hero's they will always be identified
