You pushed me away
I looked at you in astonishment
Thoughts raced through my mind
As if I was doing the tango!
You stood there silent
With eyes like a prancing tiger
I stayed my ground, eyes glowing
Like a panther ready to pounce
And sink my teeth into pink flesh...
Shouts of abuse rang out from your voice
Shattering any kindling affection of love
Echoing and ricocheting around my head
And yet I stood my ground, my own turf
Thinking is this just a mirage happening?
This was present leading into past
Love breaking up into tiny monocles
As I stood my ground...
Opened the back door
