Today begins with no surprise
Another state of walking blind
Lack of faith has made it so
Lack of trust seems won't let go
And so you walk so short of breath
You walk alone befriending death
Yet life still thrives inside of you
Life that saved yours He rescued
In the midst of things so vague
You raise white flag with hope it waves
Catching the glimpse of someone near
He who knows your sum of fears
A broken heart, a need to meet
A tired soul near last heartbeat
And so you fall upon your knees
Your last stand that no one sees
The wind of change now blows upon
A second wind on you near gone
You rise again upon your feet
You beat the odds and too defeat
You see dear friend, you who reads
God planned this day and sows this seed
His words not mine to intercede
Let go the reins, let Him now lead
For in His time, not ours my friend
Becomes the change if your will bends
You'd see who knows and also tends
All tattered souls like yours He mends
Getting ahead of ourselves, but not ahead with Him
