Extent

I wonder, truly I wonder to what extent

do I resemble the moth as it delights in

the light of the flame. That frame of light

Shimmers in my life, but will I burn or might

I by fate be spared to glimmer in the night.

The flame delights and I covet its cosy charm.

Hovering uneasily just out of range, I wonder

dare I seek the heat, knowing I will burn, but

To what extent will I test myself to feel the heat.

the shadows of night fade away as gently i glide

into the light of love, allowing myself to burn and

be reborn, realising the extent to which I go for love.

But then love is the ultimate risk in life, to love

is a wondrous beauty,to live in complete harmony

with one another requires quiescent joy in our

acceptance of each foible life bestows upon us.

Thus to this extent I am completely immersed

In the exquisite rapport of living and being in love.
