'' What A Beautiful Brussels Sprout ''

I met a girl,
We had a twirl,
Then she went down below,
Her actions had me in a whirl,
As soon it started to grow.

To get ahead,
I'm easily led,
It fills me with such desire,
Every book I've ever read,
Confirms it lights one's fire.

At first glance,
She was in a trance,
She said it gave her a fright,
Anyone's pleasure that would enhance,
For her the future looked bright.

It grew so quick,
The stem was thick,
She said it's got so much strength,
What in God's name makes it tick?
It's such a beautiful length.

What is it called?
My answer was stalled,
As I didn't know what to say,
She said don't worry I'm still enthralled,
With your creation I just love to play.

It's taken me years,
Enduring the tears,
But at last I'm rid of the stress,
Everything's not always what it appears,
Some thing's you must reassess.

As I looked with my eyes
She said look at the size,
If ever there was any doubt,
This was confirmed when I won first prize,
