THE STORMS ON PRAA SANDS

THE STORMS ON PRAA SANDS

The storms came and ravaged the South Coast
And hit my favourite beach that I love the most,
Praa sands has been stripped of its sand
It`s changed the whole lay of the land.

There is now a big slope down to the sea
This is where all the sand used to be,
You are now met by shale and rocks galore
This once beautiful sandy beach is no more.

Alas now only shale and boulders lay
Since tons of sand have been washed away,
The same thing happened twenty years ago
To happen again has been quite a blow.

Thousands of tons of golden sand – gone
There`s not much left for people to lie on,
Although the storm wasn`t as bad as before
It has still been devastating that`s for sure.

The shifting sand has changed the currents
So extra care must be taken by the parents,
The sand will come back tho` we know not when
So we`ll have to put up with this sorry state `til then.

The beaches aren`t as safe as they used to be
The storms have changed the currents you see,
Make sure the beach you`re on has a lifeguard
For you don`t want to end up in the graveyard.
