I am a captive in the Lord,
Urged in living in one accord;
And proves that you were called by God,
To worship with honor and laud.
Be humble and gentle not to stray,
Patient with each other each day;
Lovingly accept each other,
To be your sister or brother.
Through peace that ties you together,
With each new day as you enter;
Do your best to stay united,
As to not become divided.
Because the Holy Spirit gives,
A unity so each one lives;
For being one body in Christ,
No longer to become enticed.
Just one body and one Spirit,
Having been done through your merit;
The same way you share in one hope,
And together we must all cope.
There is one Lord, one faith, one birth,
One baptism for your new worth;
One God and one Father of all,
When in need is the one you call.
God looks upon you with favor,
Since He gave Christ as your Savior;
And through Christ it was measured out,
So you should never have a doubt.
When He went to the highest place,
He took captives to shine His grace;
Each one was given a talent,
Making them so wise and gallant.
Now what does this to really mean,
Believe as well in the unseen;
In the earth to the lowest part,
Before Heaven to fill your heart.
