Welcome to My life in the shadows
DAD’S SAFTY RAZOR
A twinkling of light
Touches in eye
Glistening,
Like a magnet
Drawing little hands nearer
To its polished edge.
A father’s slight,
A mother’s fear,
A child’s fascination
Left unattended.
The excitement
Of seeing it,
The thrill of touching it.
The panic in mother’s eyes.
The raising of father’s brow.
A flash of pain.
The pride of stitches.
The winter of 1958
