Despite The Dark Of Night

You gave to me , your all
Your heart, your soul, your mind
I often take a little peek
at what I once thought mine
Through words you spoke in truth
You pledged your love to me
I thought you’d never break the pact
Your love was guaranteed

Deciduous leaves are falling down
Changing with time at hand
I know you’re only miles away
But it may as well be Thailand
You’ve left me full of memories
A box of cherished tokens
Letters filled with love and pain
Where heartfelt words were spoken

Sometimes the world is harsh
And I know your heart is pained
You’ll say you’re doing fine
When you’re walking in the rain
At times I find you all alone
Although the room is full
Your eyes so pained and far away
Your mood somber and cool

I loved you fierce and swam channels
To make your sun shine bright
I love you still and always will
Despite the dark of night
