An Unopened Book
Lost Boy Of Neverland
I was once a lost boy of Neverland.
Running around sling shot in hand.
Nothing could stop me; I was so tough.
Only thing I had to fear was growing up.
Taking a cooling swim in mermaid lagoon.
At night with my friends we all howl at the moon.
Some times we would join the Indians in games.
Never did I realize that I would grow up some day.
I used to count the stars until I fell asleep.
Wishing on falling stars, wishes I will keep.
Life was simple, not a worry in my heart.
Even with James and his crew troubles they'd start.
We played tag with pixies down in the grassy hollow.
Play follow the leader, I was never the one to follow.
I never knew what awaited me beyond the star.
The one that is just to the right, it seemed so far.
Singing songs, telling silly stories, fun unending.
A life that I thought was so worth me defending.
Thought I'd never leave, with a happy thought inside.
Didn't realize that my happy thought made me fly.
So now I landed, were the gentle wind carried me.
Feeling a new feeling, a new world for me to see.
I would never imagine it could be fun growing up.
I'm still strong, but here being strong isn't enough.
Some nights I still lay awake and count stars above.
But, here with a wife and family I know happiness and love.
But in my heart I will always be a boy in Neverland.
Running rapid, playing, singing, a slingshot in hand.
