My Mother Was My Dearest Friend

My mother's name was Rachel Elizabeth Brickhouse.
Mom lived till she was seventy-two years of age.
The Lord called her Home on the 23rd of January, 2002.
It remains to be a sad time for me to remember the date.
But I do choose to remember to keep my mom's memory alive.
My mother was my dearest friend for she was always there to pick up the pieces.
I was of an alternate lifestyle that Mom highly disapproved.
Yet, she still loved me and wanted the best for me.
I remember so well the things she did to help me.
All from being my dearest friend is why she did them.
I treasure Mom and her love for me.
Thanks to Jesus  I will be seeing her one day, in Heaven.
It is then that I can tell her she was my dearest friend.
