Softly comes September…
Slipping in to soothe the air…
Stirring up the feel of fall…
Spreading shivers everywhere.
A harvest moon is hanging low…
Almost close enough to touch.
Stars shimmering in silver streams…
Who but God could create such?
The transformation of the trees
Is like magic to the eye.
Sunsets seem more glorious
Under an autumn sky.
The days are getting shorter
As the sun shifts to the south.
It is rising so much later
And the sky pours like a spout.
Rain and sometimes even snow…
Depending on location.
Migrating birds follow the clouds
To a warmer destination.
The laughter of school children…
Red apples all aglow.
Yes, softly comes September
As God bids the summer go.

Psalm 104:19
He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down
Jeremiah 5:24
They do not say in their hearts,
‘Let us fear the Lord our God,
who gives the rain in its season,
the autumn rain and the spring rain,
and keeps for us
the weeks appointed for the harvest
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.
