I do not relate to hatred
Be it race, color, religions
Evil is another thing
I am going year by year through my life
In that I review the first time I knew of prejudice
My Grandparents were Irish immigrants
Moved to the northwest and homesteaded
They were farmers, coal miners and owned logging mills
Supplied the first lumber and labor for first Catholic Church
First Catholic services held at the farmstead
That was my Father's side of my heredity
Mom was an orphan of the war the nice
Abandoned by both Mother and father in hard times
Mom found Jesus she found him in many denominations
On Easter I went to Methodist church a Baptist Church
The Catholic Church my Grandparents built
Easter day worship only destined by some, "Oh, one of those!"
Yes, we had no home church I was taught the ten commandments
As I write this I well talk of war give peace a chance
The only enemies we have are those too narrow of mind
To promote their own beliefs on us
I am appalled hearing of the killing of children to control thinking
One does not live forever and eventually answers to their deeds
The elevator eventually goes either up or down for all of us
I just don't think I want to be shoveling coal
With Adolf, Ted Buddy, Muslim terrorists and my Father
See I said I don't hate anyone there are always exceptions
