Rainbow Man

He of the Seven Colour name,

In appearance an Honourable Man,

So full of sharp practice

As was the company he ran.

Out on the road

Working at full steam

Keeping appointments made

 By his tele sales team.

I could travel many miles just

To be told by the One I'd gone to see,

They said you were in the area

And would love a cup of tea.

It was such a busy day

And I told them so:

I only  agreed to see you

Just so they'd let me go,

I'm really sorry mate

Of your company I've no need

But your telephone team

Are such a tenacious breed.

If the appointment was genuine

You'd better have closed it on your own

Or he of the Seven Colours would

Steal it if they later bought by phone.

And the Man of Seven Colours

And his management team

Found many different ways

To plot and scheme

Thus to ensure

Sales targets weren't made

And thus cutting down

On sales commissions paid.

He of The Seven Colour name

Just couldn't get it right

He even phoned to sack me

Very late one Sunday night.

I really rued the day

That I chanced to meet

That greedy, lying

Thieving young cheat;

But of course he prospered in

 His eleventh commandment way

Of, Don't do as I do mate

Just you do as I say.

He of the Seven Colour name,

In appearance an Honourable Man,

Was so full of sharp practice

As was the company he ran.
