 Shining Star.

Somewhere up in heaven,
Somewhere not that far,
I know that there is a beautiful,
Shining golden star.

I know we cannot touch it,
I know it can't be heard.
But if you look for it closely,
You'll see it sitting near.

Watching you from heaven,
Guiding you at night,
Giving you strength for tomorrow,
For the future's never out of sight.

I like to wish upon it,
With no guarantee it's listening,
But hope fills my heart simply,
Because of how it is glistening.

If you only take time to look,
Take one hopeful bedtime peep,
And you will see the shining star,
Watching over you as you sleep.
