Petals from the Past
The past crept out
in old files
read before throwing away
Each word
so long ago cherished
now stirs distant memory
Writings, letters, thoughts
precursors to the work I do now
creased with folds and age spots
I carefully straighten the papers
align the pages neatly
put them back in the folder
Petals from the past
not many
but greatly cherished
