O Lord, I was deceived,
You overpowered me;
All because I believed,
I was blinded to see.
I have been made fun of,
And mocked throughout the day;
There is no sincere love,
That was coming my way.
Every time that I speak,
I have to cry and shout;
The violence they seek,
Makes destruction about.
For the Word of the Lord,
Has only brought insults;
They have either ignored,
Just like kids not adults.
I think as I ponder,
Forgetting the Lord;
Letting my mind wander,
No more in one accord.
I cannot speak Your name,
But Your Word is inside;
And feel I must proclaim,
To conform and abide.
Like a burning fire,
Heating up all my heart;
I keep my desire,
Your Word I will impart.
A faithful God are You,
Always to fill my need;
While You help me through,
This land corrupt with greed.
So I sing to the Lord,
Bringing praise unto You;
As beloved and adored,
Always faithful and true.
